what makes us fear death?
it appears we fear it instinctively, as we all have an inherent will to live. if we understand this, why can't we acknowledge then assimilate the fear?
we naturally dislike dangerous creatures, because we are taught they can cause us pain and at worst, kill us. yet through understanding, practice and learning, it's increasingly common to not fear them, to give gruding respect.
death, along with birth, is the most constant part of being a human. death, like a weaponous animal, can cause us pain, and smother the breath from us. what makes both fearful is present in both; and yet still we have taken no measures to meditate, consider and learn not to fear the end of our lives.
fear is what everyone, everywhere battles with. we fight internally with our fear, reacting with striking out.
this is both wrong, and ineffective.
governments purely act from fear. no western government truly puts faith in their people. our own parliament panders to the sensibilities and unexpert feelings of the public, because they fear not being re-elected. security measures in place, for fear. we are the lions, they throw the meat.
all for fear of us biting the feeding hand!
